Blanc confirms PSG talks

Laurent Blanc has confirmed that he is set for discussions with Paris Saint-Germain with a view to taking over as their new manager.

Blanc is one of many candidates to have been linked with the position at the Parc des Princes, which will become vacant when Carlo Ancelotti completes his highly-anticipated move to Real Madrid.

The former Bordeaux boss has been out of work since parting company with the French national team in June 2012 after a disappointing campaign at the UEFA European Championships last year.

However, the 47-year-old now appears set to be named as Ancelotti s successor in the near future, with a one-year contract with an option for a second the deal rumoured to be in the offing.

I ll be in Paris on Monday for talks, he told Le Parisien. There is a good chance that I will sign.

I can not say much more for now, we ll know more later in the week.

PSG is a great opportunity, it is a very good club.

Blanc guided Bordeaux to their first title since 1999 when they sealed the Ligue 1 crown in 2009.

The Stade Chaban Delmas outfit also won the Coupe de la Ligue in that same year under Blanc s stewardship and he will hope to bring more success to a PSG team that won their first domestic league crown since 1994 last season.
